Your Truth
"Truth makes on the ocean of nature no one track of light; every eye, looking on, finds its own." -Edward Robert Bulweer-Lytton
I've discovered that the only way to inner peace is to make changes in your life that are sometimes most difficult and challenging, but an absolute necessity to live a joyful life.
I had one of those challenges myself and it wasn't easy, I preferred to take the emotional hit up front rather than experience pain and suffering on an ongoing basis. The decision was made to let go of a relationship that I valued and held dear to me, but missed some of the early warning signs until we were at an impasse. Some things come out of left field and we don't fully prepare for them. This was one of those times.
"Courage is the power to let go of the familiar." -Raymond Lindquist
It wasn't really anything that screamed, "You are horrible for my life," but rather a subtle "This is holding me back and I need to make a change." Friendships do that quite often and we avoid the inevitable, because if we make the change they ridicule us and attack our character or tell us we think we are better than they are.
That's not it. Each person who enters our life is here for a purpose. Some are only here for a time and others will be our guide for a lot longer, but when the relationship has run its course, trust me, it will end one way or another!
I won't lie and say it's easy. It's downright painful, but in the end it is crucial on your journey to self-discovery.
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Ted Geisel (Dr. Suess)

Women's Wisdom
"Any transition serious enough to alter your definition of self will require not just small adjustments in your way of living and thinking but a full-on metamorphosis."
- Martha Beck, O Magazine, Growing Wings, January 2004

WILLPOWER - WHERE HAS IT GONE?
Meditation calms my mind, creates inner peace, clarity and clear direction, so why don't I do it every day?
Movement (aka exercise) stretches my body, lubricates stiff joints, clears my head and makes me feel strong, so why don't I do it regularly?
Tending my finances on a regular basis is rewarding, feels good and organized, so why aren't I excited to do it?
Why don't we do the things that we know are good for us? Or that we want to do for ourselves? Whether it's eating healthy, exercising, meditation, pampering, finances, etc. - doesn't it seem strange that we don't do these things? Do we just need stronger willpower?

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving
each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the
next day he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00AM for an early
morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote
on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he
knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to
discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was
about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a
piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests. God may have created
man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the
masterpiece.
